
QUINN lite thermal blocks are available in compressive strengths of 3.0N/mm2, 5.0N/mm2 and 7.0N/mm2 offering designers flexibility to meet the structural requirements of a wide range of buildings, from traditional dwellings to large commercial and industrial buildings.
The principles of the structural design of QUINN lite Thermal blocks are the same as those of conventional concrete blocks and design may be carried out by a Structural Engineer in accordance with BS5628 Part 1: Structural use of unreinforced masonry. However, for residential buildings up to 3 storeys, local building regulations along with BS 8103: Part 2 Code of Practice for masonry walls for housing, provide general guidance to enable designers to specify block strengths and thicknesses without the requirement of a Structural Engineer.
